COLLEGE PROFILE:

SECAB’s ARS Inamdar Arts, Science & Commerce College for women is affiliated to Karnataka State Women University, Bijapur. It conducts undergraduate courses in Arts and Science (B.A. & B.Sc.) in both Kannada and English medium. The college was accreditated by NAAC with B+ grade. The college has also been adjudged as one of the best ten colleges in the Karnataka State. Recently in 2010 the college has recognized as the “College with Potential for Excellence” by the UGC. The college is grant-in-aid college of Govt. of Karnataka and also has been recognized by the UGC 2(f) 12(b). The college is situated in a beautiful, airy and spacious campus of Jalnagar, (Hudco Cross). It has excellent road connectivity in this town. The campus is safe and provides exclusiveness and convenient for girl students. The college has all infrastructural facilities like well equipped modern science laboratories, computers, illuminated and ventilated classrooms, staff rooms, girls waiting room, office, library, hostel and play ground. They are free from pollution, noise and thus provide an ideal learning atmosphere.

The college offers 30 different subjects in Arts, Science and Commerce streams at UG level and PG level. This provides a wide range of subject combinations that help the (girl) students to take care of their future professional and personal lives.

A Journey of Fulfilment:

The inception of SECAB Women’s degree college in 1974 was a landmark in the academic life of the then undivided district of Bijapur. It was a long cherished dream of Mr. S.A. Punekar, the President of the SECAB Association to establish an Arts and Science First grade college exclusively for women. Thus, the journey began with Arts section and since then over these three and a half decades the institution has been growing both in strength and in the quality of education. It has produced thousands of qualified women graduates with skill, confidence and wisdom to face life’s challenges and have been making contributions in domestic, professional and social life.
