The college having two units of National Service Scheme, consisting of hundred volunteers, organizes several activities to create among the students a spirit of social service, awareness about the people problems and participation in national agenda.

The N.S.S has taken up activities regarding environmental protection, protection of historical monuments, and development of slums. We have organized some awareness programmes like evil of alcohol-consumption of ghutkas, female foeticide sexual harassment of girls, domestic violence etc.

Every year N.S.S Units conduct a special camp at some rural area or at some slum backward area of the city itself. During the camp they conduct programmes like tree plantation, free health check-up, blood donation, cleaning activities under ‘Swatch Bharat Abhyan’

The College strongly believe that the process of learning is never complete without proper exposure and actual experience. Therefore we conduct picnics, excursions, study tours and industrial visits, so that our students learn things by seeing the places of historical, cultural and industrial importance.

The college gives optimum encouragement and scope to sports activities. The College provides all facilities of both indoor and outdoor sports and games like Badminton, Volleyball, Basket-Ball, Tenacity, Throw-ball, Chess, Table tennis, Cricket, Judo, track events, etc. Outstanding sports persons are given special coaching and incentives. As a result of this our students are performing very well in national and international sports events. Many sports persons of the college are selected as University Blues and they participated in Inter University Competitions.

The College has instituted a visit of Red Cross Society in the College Dr. M.A. Lingsur, Dept of Hindi is the Co-ordinator of this Unit. Under the aegis of this Unit we organize several activities in order to create awareness about the role and contribution of Red Cross and the youth Red Cross in an educational institution The Unit conducts some activities through which it tries to involve youth in the service activities sponsored by the youth red cross. The Unit has the following objectives

1. To create awareness among the youth about health and hygiene.
2. To involve youth in nation building activities
3. To involve youth in the protection of environment
4. To help people affected by natural disasters like drought, earth quake, floods, accidents etc

4. Raising relief funds for flood affected people
5. Visiting hospitals
6. Visiting Orphanages
7. Visiting slum areas etc

The college has designed the following courses for the academic enrichment and skill development of the students. These courses are conducted in the convenient times in addition to their regular academic programme. Such courses are

1. Basics of Computer.
2. Personality development
3. English language course for effective communication
4. Cash book and account writing training for Commerce Students etc... On the successful completion of the above courses the students will be awarded certificates by the College.

The College has made an exclusive arrangement for teaching spoken English to all students particularly those who are coming from rural & Kannada Medium background. Moreover the College provides an atmosphere of English by conducting most of the functions in English & thus encouraging the students to interact more in English in the campus.

The students coming from Urdu medium will be taught spoken Kannada. This is done through regular coaching by the Department of Kannada.
